Isolde Roux
Isolde Roux is thirty-eight, grew up bilingual in Montreal and still lives there. Before she wrote full time she spent years working nights in the records department of a downtown hospital, in the hours when the city belongs to cleaners, cab drivers and people who cannot sleep. That is where her books keep their hours. She writes contemporary vampire romance for adult readers who like a city in winter, the last metro and old buildings with something in the basement. Her vampires are not princes in castles but long-lived neighbours with careful manners and paperwork problems. She is bored of the brooding immortal who explains nothing, and writes men who have had centuries to learn how to listen.
