The Borrowed Pencil

She draws love stories for one anonymous reader. She has no idea he's standing right in front of her.

By day, storyboard artist Jin Na-rae boards the new music video for Lodestar, walking the quiet member who writes the B-sides, Moon Ha-ram, through his scenes frame by frame. By night she posts a romance webtoon under a pen name, and the reader she secretly writes for is "lastbus", a stranger who has left a careful note on every episode for a year.

Late nights over her boards. A stubby pencil he borrows and never gives back. The one stairwell in the building with no camera. Na-rae is falling for the man beside her and for the voice in her comments at the same time, and she doesn't know they're the same person.

Then a single photograph under a clear umbrella puts both their secrets in front of the whole internet. He could lose his career. She could lose her name. Each of them wants to protect the other in the one way the other won't allow.

A swoony, slow-burn K-drama romance set in Seoul, told from both sides, with a guaranteed happy ending.

Perfect for fans of Rachel Van Dyken and Trish Milburn.
